Meet Garry Senna
A life lived in pivots — and what that means for you.
I didn't arrive at coaching through a straight line. I got here the same way most of my clients did — through unexpected change, reinvention, and the stubborn belief that what's next can be better than what was.
My career began behind a camera. As a UPI award-winning professional photographer, I learned to see people — really see them. To find the story in a moment, the truth in a face. That skill never left me. It just found new rooms to work in.
For 25 years I served as a Police Chaplain and nonprofit leader — sitting with people in their worst moments. Accident scenes. Hospital waiting rooms. The kind of calls no one wants to receive. You learn something about the human spirit in those moments that no classroom can teach.
Then life pivoted. As it does.
I built a social media company from scratch, landing a New York Times bestselling author as my first client. I helped create his digital platform and led two major book launches for Baker Publishing House. I learned that reinvention, done with intention, opens doors you never knew existed.
That led me to HP as a project manager, which opened the door to Cisco — where I spent 8 years embedded in a global marketing organization. I raised my hand for everything. I supported global trade shows, created content at scale, launched a podcast, and produced over 40 short-form sales training videos with internal subject matter experts — think internal TED Talks — equipping the global sales organization with the knowledge they needed to compete. I became internally certified as an ADP StandOut coach and was chosen to onboard various Cisco's leadership team. From there I stepped into a formal internal executive coaching role, where I came to deeply understand the pressure, the politics, and the very human cost of corporate life from the inside.
Then Cisco eliminated my role. At a stage of life when many would have retreated, I leaned forward. I earned my ICF Master Certified Coach credential — the highest level of coaching certification in the world — and over the next two years completed more than 2,175 coaching sessions with leaders across some of the world's most recognized organizations.
Here's what I know about pivots — I've had seven of them. Each one arrived with uncertainty. Each one asked me to let go of an identity I'd built. And each one ultimately became the foundation for something I couldn't have imagined from where I was standing.
That's what I bring to every coaching conversation. Not theory. Not a framework from a textbook. A life genuinely lived in the questions my clients are asking right now.
If you're navigating what's next — I'd love to have a conversation.
